根拠

 ホルモン受容体陽性の早期乳癌に対する術後化学療法とホルモン療法の併用は広く行われている。化学療法とタモキシフェンを同時に使用すべきか、順次に(化学療法が終了してからタモキシフェンを)使用すべきかについては米国のIntergroup 0100(SWOG-8814)、GEICAMおよびGENOAの各試験の結果が関連学会において発表されており、順次投与したほうが、同時投与に比べて無再発生存率が良好であるとされている。タモキシフェンの結果が他のホルモン療法にも適用できるかどうかについてはまだ不明な点もあるが、乳癌診療ガイドライン薬物療法、St. Gallen会議でのコンセンサスやNCCNをはじめとする各種ガイドラインでも順次投与が推奨されている。
 以上により、手術後のホルモン受容体陽性乳癌で化学療法とホルモン療法の両方を受ける必要のある患者に対しては、順次投与が推奨される。
